Feltham Youth Under 11's vs Walton & Hersham 15/09/07 3-4

Feltham started off a little unsure and nervous so when the opposition made a break for goal, we were left behind. Although Bradley came out, the ball got loose from him and Walton scored (0-1). Soon after Bradley pulled off an easy save when Walton tried again. Feltham fought back with Lewis playing a lovely through ball to goal but there was no-one in the box to connect. Feltham were keen to try again and there was a breath-taking will they-won't they between Walton's keeper and Ben and Joe, with Joe finally scoring the equaliser (1-1) A few more chances followed including a beautiful cross from Jac but it took Oliver laying off to Jordan, who ran through and after an easy one on one with the keeper, scored our second goal (2-1) Walton soon fought back and left our defence way behind when they made a sudden break for goal. Bradley was left to try and stop them on his own (2-2) Feltham battled on and once again Oliver made a good pass to Ben who took on the Walton keeper. The ball got loose from the keeper and Ben kept the pressure on the defence determined to score. The ball deflected off a Walton defender to score our third goal (3-2)

In the second half Jac played a lovely cross just slightly wide of goal that had everyone cheering, and Jordan made a quick break down the right and shot a lovely ball which just skimmed the goalpost. Walton fought back hard and fast and although Bradley saved from a deflection and saved from a double shot at goal, Walton managed to score, bringing the score back level (3-3) With Feltham disappointed to have lost their advantage, their heads dropped a little giving Walton the opportunity to break through and score again (3-4). Aaron S was taken off late in the second half after sustaining an injury to his knee. Feltham battled hard but we just couldn't quite break through Walton's defence before the final whistle blew.

Overall Feltham played well and battled hard in their first proper eleven a side game. Their passing was much improved and players communicated well. Parents and players should be proud of a good game played well.

Thanks to Walton and Hersham for a great game....Referee and linesmen for volunteering....Parents and supporters for turning up and cheering in all the right places.
