v Manorcroft 28/10/07 Won 3-10  

Feltham travelled to Egham today to play Manorcroft with a full 16 man squad for the first time this season. On a heavy slopping pitch and in teeming rain the Whites made a good start passing the ball around nicely. However it was the home side who took the lead when their Centre Forward shot high into the net following a long ball over the top. Feltham were soon level when Anthony fired home after clearing the home defence and Lee gave the Whites the lead again outpacing the home defence. Back came Manorcroft who regained a 3-2 lead with two quick goals , the first when Feltham failed to clear a corner and the second when an awkward shot skidded into the net. Lee equalised just before half time to give a 3-3 scoreline at the break.

  The second half saw Feltham take complete control as they penetrated the home defence each time they broke forward. Lee completed his hat trick , Anthony added another and then Turnell still returning from injury added four goals one of which saw him leave a trail of defenders in his wake before firing home. A special mention for the final goal scorer as Lewis turned the ball home from close range. He is often substituted , sometimes unfairly by me , but he keeps on going despite his asthma problems and he fully deserved his first goal of the season. A comprehensive display from the Whites today, which was maybe a bit flattering as Manorcroft matched us in the first period and could have added more in the second half. However our finishing was clinical today and we need to take this into all of our games this season as it is a very tight league apart from the runaway leaders Hayes and most games will only be won by the odd goal.

  Well done to all 16 boys today for some very good performances and a big thank you to all the parents and supporters who braved the rain to watch the game. Thanks to Steve for running the line.
