03/09/06 v Hive FC - Feltham Park – Friendly Result Won 11 – 4
Feltham kicked off the 2006/07 season with a resounding victory over our old friends Hive from the Premier League. Looking snazzy in their new kit, Feltham paraded all their new signings from the summer but were missing Joe, Adam and Daniel S.
Using an old cliché, this was a game of two halves where the wind played a strong part. Feltham were behind early in the game but settled down quickly and equalised within minutes. Defending a strong wind the Blues began playing some good football and were quick to move the ball to the wide areas where John Jo and Anthony were both causing problems for the visitors. Feltham moved into a 3-1 lead but then lost concentration as the lead was pegged back. Half time saw the teams level pegging at 3-3. Feltham were indebted to the Under 10 goalie Bradley who kept the scores level with a couple of excellent saves.
The second half saw a rampant Feltham side tear into the visitors and the goals began to fly in as Feltham enjoyed the wind at their backs. In no particular order the home side scorers were John Jo (5), Lewis , Anthony (2) , Nathan and Sam (2). Hive to their credit kept battling away and pulled a goal back to make the final score 11-4 to the home side.
I was very pleased today with the attitude and performance of each of the boys. Some of our football was excellent and if we can take this level of performance into the new season hopefully it will be a rewarding season for Feltham Under 11s.Each of the boys played well today with a special mention for our young goalie Bradley . Well done boys keep it up.
